In the fourth quarter of 2023, the Australian fast food industry witnessed interesting trends in mobile app performance. Here's a wrap-up of how the top fast food and fast casual restaurant apps fared on the Android platform, as reported by Sensor Tower.
MyMacca's saw a fluctuating pattern in downloads, peaking at 50K in early October before dipping to 6K by the end of December. The weekly active users started strong at 277K and saw a high of 309K in mid-November, but gradually decreased to 216K by Christmas week.
KFC - Order On The Go experienced a rise in downloads in late October, reaching over 10K, followed by a decline towards the end of the year, settling at around 5K. The app's weekly active users showcased a peak of 90K in late October and a slight drop to 74K by the year's end.
For Hungry Jack’s Deals & Ordering, downloads saw an upward trend in November, hitting 11K, before falling to 6K in the final week of December. The weekly active users peaked at 61K in late November, with a noticeable dip to 52K at the close of the quarter.
Domino’s downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight increase to 6.5K in late October. However, there was a gradual decrease in weekly active users from 33K at the start of the quarter to roughly 29K by the end.
Lastly, Guzman y Gomez (GYG) Mexican maintained consistency in downloads, hovering around 3K throughout the quarter. Its weekly active users saw a modest increase to nearly 9K in late November but then declined to just under 8K by the end of December.
